Dark Chocolate Avocado Mousse

I think avocados are one of my favourite foods. I have one almost everyday! They are full of fibre and healthy fats to keep you feeling full. I like this mousse during the cooler months as an alternative to smoothie bowls. It's the perfect post workout meal especially with the addition of protein powder. If you don't like protein powder, you can always add in combination of ground flax, pumpkin and sunflower seeds or ever hemp hearts for some added protein. Get creative with the toppings! I usually add berries or extra banana, cacao nibs and pumpkin seeds for crunch. I also added a bit of maca powder, which is one of my all time favourite supplements to help balance hormones and boost energy.

Dark Chocolate Avocado Mousse

Serves: 1


  • 1/2 of a medium avocado

  • 1/2 ripe banana

  • 1 scoop protein powder of choice

  • 1 tbs cocoa powder

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

  • pinch of sea salt

  • 1-2 tbsp almond milk

  • 1/2 tsp organic maca (optional)

Topping Options: Coconut shreds, almonds, pumpkin seeds, hemp hearts, cacao nibs, dark chocolate chips, banana, berries.


Combine all in ingredients in blender or food processor and blend until combined. You may have to add more almond milk to get proper consistency.

Top with your favourite toppings and enjoy!
