I love making these bars for a quick breakfast or snack. They are filled with skin healthy fats like walnuts, hemp hearts and coconut oil. Cocoa is also filled with antioxidants that helps to protect and rejuvenate skin cells. I also love adding in maca powder to help balance out hormones for an added bonus.
1 cup walnuts (or any nut will do!)
5 medjool dates
2 tbsp hemp hearts
1 tbsp coconut oil
3 tbsps cocoa powder
1 tsp maca powder (optional)
1/4 tsp sea salt
Toppings: coconut flakes, goji berries, sesame seeds, hemp hearts, cacao nibs
Blend all ingredients together in a food processor. Add in 1-2 tbsp of warm water to get a softer consistency. Spread mixture into a small pan (I used a bread pan). Add toppings of your choice. Refrigerate before cutting into bars.
