Day on My Plate



One of the most common questions I get? “Can you just tell me what you eat in a day?!”

So I thought I would share what a typical day looks like for me.

Upon rising: 500 ml warm water with juice of half a lemon. This is so good to help wake up your digestive system and detox your liver first thing in the am.

Breakfast:

I typically like to a have a couple cups of coffee first thing with some cashew milk or coconut cream and lots of cinnamon.

My breakfast can depend on time and if I am working out or not. I often workout fasted and have a big replenishing smoothie afterwards with plant based protein, coconut yogurt, berries or banana, cinnamon, leafy greens and a healthy fat such as almond butter or hemp hearts.

Lunch:

I typically like to batch cook a couple of staples on the weekend. I love grilled chicken and quinoa and will usually mix this with leafy greens and hummus or tahini.

Snacks:

I absolutely love a crisp, tart apple dipped in almond butter. I am a big salty and sweet person so this totally cures my cravings. Sometimes I will make one of my protein balls or have a plant based protein bar.

Dinner:

I often opt for curries or stir frys with some protein such as fish or chicken, tons of veggies and brown rice for dinner.

Dessert:

My favourite way to wind down the night is with a couple pieces of good quality dark chocolate each night along with my turmeric elixir or a bit of kombucha to help with digestion. This is so satisfying and helps combat those pesky post meal sugar cravings.
