Pumpkin Spice Turmeric Latte

We all know my obsession with turmeric but this pumpkin spice is so yummy! I bought a can of pumpkin to make some of my pumpkin pie balls and some left over so decided to make a yummy latte with it. Turmeric is one of my favorite healing spices to use, and you probably already know the benefits of it buuut here they are again just in case!

Benefits of Turmeric:

  • Natural anti-inflammatory

  • Powerful antioxidant

  • Increases brain function

  • Helps to reduce bloating and aid with issues such as candida

  • Help to relieve pain for those with arthritis or sore joints

  • Excellent for post workout recovery

The anti inflammatory component curcumin is best absorbed with a little black pepper (swear you can't taste it!) and fat which is why I put in some coconut milk! It's full of healthy fats and tastes so creamy. I love having this after dinner as dessert or a mid afternoon pick me up instead of coffee. You must try!

Pumpkin Spice Turmeric Latte

Serves: 2

  • 1 cup unsweetened nut milk (I like cashew)

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 2 tbsp full fat coconut milk

  • 1-2 tbsp pumpkin puree

  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric

  • Couple cracks of black pepper

Optional adds:

  • Collagen

  • Coconut butter

  • Your favourite adaptogens (I love adding in maca root powder)

Combine all ingredients into a sauce pan and whisk to combine. Add desired sweetener of choice. For extra froth, whip in blender for a couple of seconds. Pour into mugs and sprinkle with additional cinnamon.

Enjoy and don't forget to tag me @miaharrisnutrition if you make it!
