Share a little bit with us. Who are you and what do you do?
We are ‘Life Of Blondette’ - A Blonde & Brunette duo who have been BFF’s for over 10 years strong!
While our health & wellness journey started over 8 years ago - we have been sharing it via social media for just under 2 years. We feel as if we’re now just bringing people along with us on our journey - & going that extra mile to create cool content for people to look at!
Life of Blondette is meant to be an approachable place where people can go to get health & wellness inspo. We try to be as relatable as possible - & we’re truly about living a well balanced life.
How did you get into the health and wellness community?
We’ve been working out together for years, and many people asked us what our tips & tricks were. At that point we just decided - Hey? Why not create a social media platform that everyone can see. The response via Instagram has been amazing & we are thrilled to be of help to others on their health and wellness journey. We call ‘LOB’ our passion project, it brings us so much joy. If one day it becomes a full time job - we would have NO problem with that.
What inspires you?
Seeing people make change for the better! Whether it’s weight loss, getting to the gym for the first time in a long time, or cleaning up an unhealthy diet. We’ve had some of our followers reach out to us about their progress & improvement - it brings us so much joy! It’s hard to be consistent with diet & fitness (we even struggle from time to time) - but when we see that we’ve inspired people to keep going, it inspires us to keep going!
What is your food philosophy?
BALANCE! We don’t restrict ourselves too much because that just leads to bad cravings & binge fests - are we right?
We try to eat good about 80% of the time and the rest of the time we treat ourselves.
As for foods groups - aside from any intolerances we may have - we really try to incorporate all food groups into our diet. We try to aim for organic, sustainable foods - but if it’s not the case then it’s not the end of the world.
Walk us through what a typical day looks like for you (Food, exercise, work/life)
On a typical day…
6 am: Meet up for coffee & have a little pow wow.
7 am: Workout - usually our own workout, a PT session, or a class of some sort.
8 am: Grab a smoothie from Body Energy Club or head home & make a smoothie.
9 am: Work - we both create our own schedules with work - some days end earlier & some days end later.
12pm-1pm: A healthy lunch on the go - usually Turf, Glory Juice, Tractor.
5pm-7pm: Dinner - usually at home - protein, veggies & some sort of starch/grain
Dessert (sometimes) - Smart Sweets, Popcorn or Lily’s chocolate chips.
What are some of your go-to foods/snacks for busy days?
Go Macro bars - our absolute FAV on the go snack!! Other then that - usually fruit, or a smoothie from Body Energy Club.
What has been one of your biggest struggles? (can be with food, business, or personal)
I think for both of us - we both could go off on certain foods & we have to use willpower to control that! For example - Blondie absolutely loves Candy, & our Brunette could eat a whole tub of Peanut Butter or Popcorn in one sitting. Both aren’t the best in large consumptions and we have to constantly remember - “everything in moderation”.
What advice do you have for those starting out in their wellness journey?
Slow & steady wins the race. We’ve always said that!! We believe that tweaking your diet bit by bit and regular exercise has much more longevity than doing these ‘fad diets’. Be patient with yourself & stay consistent!
Ps. Switching up workouts has been our favourite way to notice results!
