Dark Hot Chocolate

Hot chocolate is one of my favourite night time drinks. It reminds me so much of being a kid and sitting around a fire. I love this after dinner for a sweet treat and to wind down the day before bed. Cocoa powder is a good source of magnesium to help calm the nervous system. 

 

Dark Hot Chocolate

 

Ingredients:

  •  2 cups almond milk

  •  2 tbs cocoa powder

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg (optional)

  • 1-2 tbsp of honey or maple syrup (I like to use stevia drops for a low sugar option)

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

  • pinch of sea salt

 

Method:

 

Whisk ingredients together in a pot over the stove and bring to desired temperature. Blend it up before serving to get it nice and frothy. Serve in your favourite mug and enjoy!
