The first thing I usually do in the morning is head for my coffee maker and I adore a delicious espresso in the afternoon but recently I have been making the switch to matcha. You still get the caffeine hit but with so many more added health benefits. Matcha is full of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals such as vitamin c, selenium, magnesium, chromium and zinc. It helps to detoxify the body, balance out blood sugar levels and naturally boosts your metabolism.
Matcha is simply just ground up green tea leaves. One cup of matcha is equal to the equivalent of 10 cups of green tea and it is higher in antioxidants than any other food.
Always opt for pure and organic matcha as many brands add sugar (like the green tea latte at Starbucks!). You can even add it to smoothies or bake with it as well!
