Hi there! I am Mia Harris, a registered holistic nutritionist and personal trainer who is dedicated to helping women feel their best, physically, mentally and emotionally. Thank you for visiting my page and taking the time to read this.
My relationship with food and my body has been a complicated one. I grew up with a healthy mindset around food when I was young but as I grew older, the pressure of society started to sink in and I became more and more consumed with what I looked like. I believed that for people to like me I had to look a certain way. My self esteem was based off of what the number on the scale was and my life started to be controlled by food. Meal times began to feel like torture and my workouts were used for punishment. I was hungry, tired and sick of not knowing how to properly take care of my body. I struggled with digestive issues, extreme fatigue and hormonal imbalances. I knew that I could not live the rest of my life feeling like this and I had to make a change.
I started to do my own research and decided to heal my own body through food. I knew my mindset was a huge factor and that I had to make some big changes in my personal life. I healed my relationship with my body and food by making small, consistent changes. I implemented mindful eating, trusted my body and started to view food as nourishment. I listened and gave my body exactly what it needed.
I set out on a soul searching journey. I left a long term relationship, a full time corporate job at a bank and decided to make my passion for healthy living my career.
I truly believe that having a healthy body means having a healthy mind. As the saying goes, you can eat all the kale you want, but if you don’t deal with the stuff going on in your heart and your head, it’s not going to do much. My goal is to share my knowledge to help women realize how good they are supposed to feel. You can live a life with balance, without deprivation or restriction.
I have helped clients through digestive and hormonal imbalances, weight gain and weight loss. There is a lot of noise in the health and wellness industry and I am here to help block it out.
Health is a long term commitment. I want to help you take your life into your own hands and be the best you.
Our relationship with food and our bodies have become complicated, but it doesn’t have to be that way. My dream is for women to feel happy, confident and proud of their bodies. I want to shift the focus from being “skinny” to feeling strong and empowered.
Health is not a one size fits all so why should your nutrition plan be? Our bodies require different things at different times.
I believe that true wellness is the marrying of the body, mind and soul.
I want to help you develop a plan that is maintainable, easy and fun. I don’t believe in diets, deprivation or restriction. I believe food and life should be enjoyed, not feared. Let's change the way we look at food.
I take holistic approach to wellness that addresses food, movement and lifestyle. We look at all aspects to your health to create a well rounded plan that helps you to achieve your best self. We will look at things like sleep, exercise, dietary habits, emotional connections to food and stress levels.
