Brownie Batter Protein Balls

Looking for an afternoon sweet treat that is packed with protein and healthy fats? Look no further! These brownie batter protein balls are the perfect snack for either the afternoon to get you fueled through until dinner time or for a sweet dessert treat.

Brownie batter bliss calls make a perfect balanced snack.

For snacks, I usually suggest pairing either a carb source with protein or healthy fats to help keep blood sugar stable. These brownie balls are packed with hormone healthy ingredients including:

  • Dates: Great source of carbs that contain fiber and nutrients like magnesium and potassium. The dates make these protein balls a great option for a pre workout snack.

  • Cocoa: Cocoa is loaded with antioxidants and points if you use cacao powder! This is a great option for when the chocolate craving hits!

  • Walnuts: A great source of omega 3 fatty acids that help balance blood sugar and support brain health.

Brownie Batter Bliss Balls

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup walnuts

  • 1/2 cup vegan chocolate protein powder*

  • 2 tbsp cacao or cocoa powder

  • 5 large medjool dates (pitted)

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

  • 2 tbsp nut butter (I like almond or tahini)

  • Pinch of sea salt

  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Method:

Combine all ingredients except the dark chocolate chips in a food processor and blend. You may have to add a little warm water to get a nice doughy consistency. Roll into balls and refrigerate.

Melt the chocolate in the microwave for 45 seconds and drizzle over the brownie balls. Refrigerate again for 10 minutes before serving.

*I like to use vegan protein powder when I make bars or balls. I find whey doesn't work as well!
