Chocolate Orange Smoothie

The holidays are right around the corner and what better way to get into the holiday spirit than a nourishing, and delicious smoothie?

If you love Terry’s chocolate oranges, you are going to love this chocolate orange smoothie!

This smoothie is loaded with ingredients that support healthy hormones like orange juice, which is loaded with vitamin c which support adrenal health and cocoa from the dark chocolate which is a great source of magnesium.

It is also perfectly balanced with protein, healthy carbs from orange juice and banana and fats from the coconut milk and hemp hearts.

Chocolate Orange Protein Smoothie

Recipe: Serves 1

  • 3/4 cup water

  • 1/4 cup full fat coconut milk from a can (you can sub any nut milk as an alternative to the water and coconut milk)

  • 1/3 cup orange juice

  • 1/2 frozen banana

  • 1 scoop chocolate protein - whey or vegan (if you have vanilla protein, add in a bit more cocoa powder)

  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder

  • 1 tbsp hemp hearts

  • Handful of ice

  • Optional for a thicker shake: 1/3 of a frozen avocado

  • Cacao nibs for topping (optional)

Method:

Blend all ingredients except for the cacao nibs in a blender and blend until smooth. For an extra decadent smoothie bowl, add in the avocado to make it thicker and top top with granola, orange slices and chocolate shavings.
